THE LUXURY CONDO MARKET IN SCOTTSDALE, PHOENIX & TEMPE
In the last decade or so, Greater Phoenix and Scottsdale have seen the introduction and growth of large luxury condo developments offering outstanding amenities and a different way to enjoy desert living. Many notable developments have gone up in the new Scottsdale Waterfront area as well in the heart of the Biltmore corridor.
These luxury condo developments are perfect for local residents who want to downsize their larger homes or for seasonal visitors who want to “lock and leave” their Arizona homes. Besides the amenities onsite, many of these communities are walking distance from excellent restaurants, entertainment, shopping, cultural attractions and more.
While the list below is not exhaustive, here is a brief overview of some of the developments that are worth exploring.
Scottsdale Luxury Condo Developments
Downtown Scottsdale and the Scottsdale Waterfront area feature some spectacular developments. And, as the area has grown over time, there is plenty to do within walking distance to keep yourself entertained.
Optima Camelview is a collection of contemporary and visually stunning mid-rise buildings featuring steel, glass and abundant plant life. It was designed by the award-winning architect David Hovey and has elevated condo living to a new level. It is located on Scottsdale Road just north of Camelback, adjacent to the Scottsdale Fashion Square Mall. (There are other Optima developments around the Valley, including Optima Biltmore, Optima Kierland and the soon-to-be-built Optima McDowell Mountain.)
Another major development is the Scottsdale Waterfront Residences. This elegant community is very popular and overlooks the waterfront district. Residents find themselves in the heart of an exciting dining, shopping and entertainment district. The Scottsdale Waterfront Residences luxury condos are right in the middle of all of the action and the views are fabulous.
Envy can be found in the heart of Old Town Scottsdale. Envy features 89 residences with outstanding details. Coupled with five-star amenities including a concierge, pool, lounge and more, Envy generates a lot of interest.
An exciting new development is underway. It is called Ascent at The Phoenician. These stunning contemporary units border The Phoenician resort.

CENTRAL SCOTTSDALE LUXURY CONDOS
If you are considering luxury condos a little further north, there are a couple of outstanding developments in North Scottsdale. The first is Landmark Condos at Kierland. The onsite amenities are best-in-class and The Landmark is within walking distance to all of the shopping, dining and nightlife at Kierland Commons and Scottsdale Quarter. The second option at Kierland is the Plaza Lofts at Kierland. Although they are not technically condos, these highly sought-after lofts should be included in this list.
Optima Kierland is a newer development located in the heart of Kierland and across the street from Scottsdale Quarter. It has a rooftop pool, large fitness center and excellent amenities. Down the road, we will be seeing some other new opportunities in the Scottsdale Quarter neighborhood as well.

NORTH SCOTTSDALE LUXURY CONDOS
North Scottsdale now has several newer luxury condo communities.
The first is ICON within Silverleaf. These elegant and modern single-level units are perfect for a lock-and-leave setup or as full-year residences.
The Retreat at Seven at Desert Mountain is a newer development and offers lovely units overlooking the 7 Golf Course. These homes are within walking distance of the Seven Clubhouse with its dining and entertainment options.
The newest entrant, The Reserve, is a collection of fifty-two luxury villas tucked away in northeast Scottsdale.

Phoenix Luxury Condo Developments
In the Biltmore Corridor (around 24th Street and Camelback Road), there are several luxury condo developments that attract buyers from all over. The Biltmore is already well-known for its stunning resort, the Arizona Biltmore Resort and Spa, and elegant living. Shoppers delight in the upscale, outdoor Biltmore Fashion Park Mall and several other shopping and dining venues.
Some of the more notable medium and high-rise communities include: The Residences at 2211 Camelback, Optima Biltmore Towers (sister property to Optima Camelview and Optima Kierland) and Esplanade Place.
