Scottsdale AZ Single-Family Homes For Sale – May 2010

Here are the sales results for Scottsdale AZ homes for May of 2010. May was another strong month for Scottsdale home sales. This is the third month in a row where we have seen good sales numbers as well as high pending sales figures. Additionally, inventory continues to decrease.

May 2010 Highlights for Scottsdale AZ Homes for Sale:

  • Active Scottsdale Homes for Sale: At the end of the month, there were 2,653 homes on the market. This was down 5% from April’s active homes for sale in Scottsdale. This number has been decreasing since January of 2010 and is well below the 12 month average of 2,837 homes for sale.
  • Pending Scottsdale Home Sales: There were 623 pending sales in Scottsdale at the end of the month. This is down slightly from April’s 661, but it is still a strong showing. The 12 month average for this figure is 541.
  • Scottsdale Homes Sold: 437 homes sold in the month of May. This is the second highest we have seen this figure over the last year, and it is just behind March’s 442 home sales. The 12 month average for monthly home sales is 369.

Overall, May turned in a good performance for Scottsdale AZ real estate. Inventory continued to decrease, sales were strong and pending sales were still in the 600’s. Based on pending activity, June should continue the trend and be another good month.

Memorial Day Weekend at Forest Highlands – Flagstaff, Arizona

Forest Highlands Flagstaff AZForest Highlands, an upscale golf community in Flagstaff, Arizona just celebrated another fun and activity-filled Memorial Day weekend. The weather was beautiful and in the 70’s, a large contrast to the 90 degree plus weather of Scottsdale and Phoenix.

Throughout the weekend, residents could play golf on one or both of Forest Highland’s golf courses, visit one of the driving ranges, perhaps play a little tennis over at the tennis complex, or take some time to get some sun and play in the pool at either of the clubhouses. A lot of residents also took advantage of the miles of pathways and rode bikes, jogged or took their dogs for a walk.

The highlight of the weekend took place on Sunday afternoon on the large field near the Meadow Clubhouse. The annual Forest Highlands Memorial Day picnic was another success. Hundreds of people showed up and all ages had a great time. For the younger set, there were several “bounce” houses separated out by age group. There was also face painting, fun games, cotton candy and popcorn. For everyone else, a live band was playing and the music provided a great background for the event. The picnic buffet did not disappoint – BBQ chicken, make-your-own pork tacos, Italian sausages, caprese salad and more graced the tables. And for dessert, there was sliced watermelon and towers of freshly-made brownies.

Forest Highlands is a wonderful community and is a great place to escape to when the weather in the Phoenix Valley gets a little too oppressive.

Nourish Restaurant Comes to Optima Camelview – Scottsdale AZ

Optima Camelview Luxury Condos Scottsdale AZUPDATE: The Nourish location at Optima has closed, but there are two other locations in the valley.

 

 

One of the newest additions to Scottsdale’s Optima Camelview is Nourish, a delightful, healthy restaurant that serves up tasty and guilt-free dishes.

Nourish fits right in with Optima Camelview’s design. It is contemporary and clean with two patios to dine on as well as inside the restaurant itself. It is open for lunch daily and dinner Monday through Sunday.

Nourish’s menu has plenty of selections and has many options for all kinds of diners. There are a great number of vegan and vegetarian dishes as well as a large number of gluten-free and lactose-free options for people with food allergies. We had the opportunity to try the Seared Ahi Tuna Salad, which was great, as well as the meatball sandwich. The sandwich came with a side of oven-baked sweet potato fries that were excellent. The homemade lemonade is another item to try.  Our server also recommended  a few other items we did not have a chance to try – the Creamy Lemon Artichoke Hummus as a starter and a Chopped Spicy Mango Avocado Salad or the Savory Apricot Chipotle Glazed Turkey Meatloaf as entrees.

I look forward to coming back to Nourish again as there are so many other items on the menu I look forward to trying.
