– Where to Eat in Scottsdale AZ: Eddie V’s at the Scottsdale Quarter –
Several years ago, I wrote my first post about Eddie V’s. That was back in 2010 and at that time, the restaurant was located in DC Ranch’s Market Street development. It was one of our favorite places to stop by for an excellent meal or a quick visit at Happy Hour. Since then, it has moved further south to Scottsdale Quarter and continues to thrive.
Recently, we went to celebrate a birthday and had a wonderful experience. The manager personally came over to wish a happy birthday and introduce himself. He then introduced us to our server, Brandon, who ended up taking excellent care of us all evening.
For those of you who are not familiar with Eddie V’s, it is known for its upscale seafood. However, it has some outstanding steak and poultry options for folks who are not fans of seafood.
Since we were in a celebratory mood, we ended up ordering quite a bit of food and enjoyed every bite.
We started with the shrimp cocktail, which is traditionally prepared and served with cocktail sauce, a side of fresh horseradish, as well as spicy mustard sauce. It is a simple preparation, but so delicious. We also had the calamari which is prepared in a “Kung Pao” style with a little kick and fried noodles.
For entrees, we had the special of the evening which was a filet mignon with shrimp scampi, the parmesan encrusted sole, (with an addition of a dollop of lump crabmeat on top,) and the ahi tuna steak. As sides, we decided on the crab fried rice, the truffled mac and cheese and sautéed spinach. Everything was excellently prepared and tasted fabulous.
To finish off the night, we had two decadent deserts. The first was a spectacular key lime tart with a tall merengue on top that was then drizzled with a raspberry coulis. They had kindly spelled out Happy Birthday on the plate to make it more special. And, we could not resist ordering the Godiva chocolate molten cake with vanilla ice cream. They were both outstanding and were the perfect way to end our special meal.
In addition to full meals, Eddie V’s has an excellent Happy Hour. From 4-7PM on Tuesdays through Saturdays and all night on Sundays and Mondays, you can order a large number of their appetizer offerings and drinks at a discount.
