The great weather in Scottsdale means that cold treats like frozen yogurt and gelato are fun to have year-round. Here is a short list of North Scottsdale area frozen yogurt shops that are a quick and easy way to feed your frozen yogurt craving on a sunny day.
All of these relatively new yogurt shops cater to individual tastes. You are in charge of serving yourself, so you are free to pick whatever flavors, quantities and toppings you would like. It is not unusual to be able to pick from 8 or more flavors running anywhere from “Oatmeal Cookie” to non-dairy “Hawaiian.” In addition, the majority of these stores feature at least one “tart” flavor, which is making a comeback from when frozen yogurt was first introduced to consumers. One benefit is that most of these flavors are non-fat and the few that are not are low-fat.
Topping combinations are endless. You can have almost anything with your yogurt from dry toppings like sprinkles, candies and cereal, to several fresh fruit options, to things like caramel sauce and hot fudge if you are in the mood to be a little more decadent.
Once you are done selecting your yogurt flavors and toppings, simply put your cup on the scale and you are charged by the ounce.
Here is a short list of some of the stores I recommend in the North Scottsdale area:
- Cherry on Top – Two locations – The Summit – 32421 N. Scottsdale Road and Sonora -15640 N. Pima Rd.
- The Yogurt Bar – Grayhawk – 20851 N. Scottsdale Road (CLOSED)
- Yogurtology– Mc Dowell Mountain Ranch area – 15029 N Thompson Peak Parkway. Kierland location coming soon.(CLOSED)
- Mojo Yogurt – City North in North Phoenix – 5410 High Street
And, I do want to include one other place for excellent cool treats, even though they do not serve frozen yogurt. That’s Amore, located at the corner of Pinnacle Peak and Miller Road, makes the most delicious, fresh gelato. They always have tons of options to choose from and their authentic gelato is another great way to enjoy a cool treat.
