There is always something fun going on in or around Scottsdale, Arizona since it has such great weather year-round. And, now that we are moving out of the heat of summer, things are starting to pick up.
Here are just a few of the many events and happenings coming up over the next several weeks:
~ September
September 17-25 – Arizona Restaurant Week – Want to visit that restaurant you have been wanting to try? Or do you want to save a little money at one of your favorite places? Then take advantage of Arizona Restaurant Week. Dozens of excellent local restaurants are offering set menus for Restaurant Week with prices from $20 to $40 per person. I also saw a few 2 for $30 options. Most meals include a starter, an entree and a dessert and some of the restaurants are also offering drink specials as well.
September 24th -Criterium Bike Race at DC Ranch in Scottsdale – Come watch as cyclists of all ages and levels race the 1 kilometer course for a cash prize.
September 24th – Urban Wine Walk – 11am to 6pm – Purchase a Light Rail Pass and get started on an all day wine tasting adventure. Local vendors in Phoenix and Tempe are serving up flights of wine at special Urban Wine Walk prices. Grab your friends and explore the city in a new and fun way.
~ October
October 2 – Dine Out With the Chefs – 4pm to 6pm – Head down to the Scottsdale Center of Performing Arts to interact with and sample the offerings of over 25 of the area’s top chefs. In addition to the food, there will be wine and spirit tastings, cooking demonstrations, live music and more.
October 10-16 – Spa Week – Indulge yourself at any number of local spas for only $50 per treatment. Top area spas like the Golden Door and the Biltmore are participating. Visit the Spa Week website to see the participants and treatments offered. Book early as these spots fill up quickly!
~ Ongoing Events
September 29th – October 5th – Scottsdale Classic Horse Show at WestWorld – Attend the 9th Annual Classic Horse show and watch entrants from all over compete for the top prizes. Take time to browse through the large selection of vendors as well. In addition to the competitions and shopping, there are many events and classes planned as well.
Big Bugs by David Rogers at the Desert Botanical Garden – Now through January 1, 2012 – Come see the whimsical and enormous bugs David Rogers has created from natural materials. Ranging in size from 300 to 1,200 pounds, the bugs are scattered throughout the grounds. Even better, several “bug friendly” events are being tied in, including movie nights in the garden with bug-themed movies.
Scottsdale Center for the Performing Arts – Here is the 2011-2012 Calendar for the Scottsdale Center for the Performing Arts. The venue offers a wide variety of performances and events throughout the year.
