We were excited to hear about Lure Fish House opening in Scottsdale a few months back. We love trying new places and seafood is one of our favorites. Lure comes to us via Southern California where there are a few locations and this is the first location in Arizona.
The design of the restaurant is beautiful. It is open and airy and the whites and blues give it a coastal feel. There is an open-air raw oyster bar where you can watch the chefs prepare and shuck fresh shellfish. There are two outdoor patios with the same color schemes and ample seating.
We went to Lure for lunch a few weeks back and enjoyed it immensely. Our server could not have been kinder and was happy to go over any menu questions and the food itself was delicious.
To start, we ordered the Crispy Calamari that comes with jalapeno peppers and a choice of two dipping sauces, tomato and chipotle aioli. It was perfectly cooked – crispy and not greasy – and the peppers added some heat without being overwhelming. One of my dining companions started with a bowl of clam chowder that was excellent as well.
If you are a fan of Sand Dabs, Lure is the place to get them! They are prepared with a light herb crust and are served with a lemon caper sauce. The dish comes with two side dishes and on that day, my dining companion opted for sauteed spinach and french fries. (I stole a few fries – they were tasty! 😀)
I wanted to go lighter and opted for the Caesar Salad and added on Big Glory Bay King Salmon. The salad was crisp an fresh and the salmon was cooked perfectly! For fans of anchovies, they are available as an add-on for a small charge.
In addition to what we sampled, they have lots of offerings, including:
- Chilled raw bar offerings and several ceviches
- Grilled seafood
- Fried offerings, like Fish and Chips and Shrimp and Chips
- Entree salads
- Seafood bowls
- A large number of specialty dishes including a Lobster roll, trout and burgers
- They also have several tempting dessert choices
We really enjoyed our lunch at Lure and I look forward to coming back again for another lunch or for dinner.
