Scottsdale’s New Brush and Bulk Pickup Program

– City of Scottsdale Brush and Bulk Pickup – New Guidelines –

The City of Scottsdale recently released new guidelines for brush and bulk pickup that not only help control costs for homeowners and renters, but also help the environment.

Historically, on brush and bulk pickup days, all trash would go into a single pile. Going forward, the City of Scottsdale is asking that you separate your bulk and brush into two piles that are at least three feet apart from each other.

• “Green” pile – This pile will include any refuse that is “green” and can be used for compost for new plants. This is where you would include things like branches, grass clippings and other yard waste.
• Anything else – Anything that cannot be composted. These would be things like pallets, mattresses and so on. These items will go into the landfill.

Instead of all items being picked up by a single truck, there will now be two trucks to pick up the different piles. This is a great way to keep compostable items out of the landfill and help new plants grow throughout our community.

•  Brush and Bulk collection is conducted monthly. The dates of your service are based on where in Scottsdale you live.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

• Have your items out by 5 AM Monday on the week your home will be serviced
• Do not include things like hazardous waste, remodeling/construction trash, sheet glass (including panes or mirrors) or regular trash
• Crews have an allotted time of twenty minutes per residence. If the amount of items you have exceeds this time limit, you will need to store any remaining items until the following month’s collection
