– OdySea Mirror Maze and Laser Maze –
I had the chance to spend some time at the OdySea Mirror Maze and Laser Maze last week and it was a ton of fun for the kids.
The Mirror Maze and Laser Maze are located just behind the Butterfly Wonderland complex and will be across the way from the much anticipated OdySea Aquarium when it opens later this year.
You walk into the lobby and the Laser Maze is off to your left and the Mirror Maze is off to the right. There is also a retail section offering candy and treats, gear and clothing. The staff could not have been more friendly or helpful.
Laser Maze
The Laser Maze reminds me of something out of a Mission Impossible. Several laser beams are placed at different heights and angles and your goal is to cross from one side to the other and hit a button without setting off too many lasers. Participants can race against each other or work as a team.
TV monitors outside track everyone’s performance so you can try to beat your previous scores or scores of other players.
Mirror Maze
The Mirror Maze is a Mayan themed maze with mirrors, passages and jungles. The participants enter the maze and the goal is to get to find the butterfly and get to the other end of the tricky path.
The cool thing is that the front desk can control the level of difficulty of the maze and there are several different versions. Since the kids had unlimited maze passes, they got to try all of the different iterations while they were there.
Since it was quieter that morning, the employees, including the birthday party coordinator, gave us a tour of the decorated birthday party rooms. One of the rooms is completely decked out in a Secret Spy theme. The other room is decorated in a Rainforest theme. They are both great and the staff was enthusiastic as they described how much they liked hosting the themed parties.
