– The American Girl Doll Store Opens in Scottsdale –
The long-anticipated American Girl doll store opening is finally here. On Saturday, August 22nd, the store will open in the Scottsdale Quarter shopping center and events are planned all weekend. Based on other openings, this event is sure to bring out large crowds.
The store is located in one of the new buildings off of the back of the existing shopping center. When we walked by earlier this week, crews were working hard to finish up the outside and we could see the cafe staff training in anticipation of the grand opening.
The 12,000 square foot store is impressive and features a large shopping area where you can purchase the various American Girl dolls and their clothes, books, accessories and more.
One of the draws will be the doll salon, where the dolls can get their hair styled, get their ears pierced and enjoy spa treatments.
Hungry? The American Doll Bistro will serve a variety of things to eat including appetizers, entrees and desserts. Tea service is also available for an afternoon treat. Reservations can be made via the website.
There are also some birthday party packages available for little ones who want to celebrate with their friends and their dolls.
Opening Weekend:
Very large crowds are expected for Saturday and Sunday. In order to control the flow of people, Scottsdale Quarter is setting up a ticketing system.
For tickets, guests should visit the Scottsdale Quarter quad (the large open area where True Food Kitchen and the splash pad are located.) On Saturday morning, ticket distribution will begin at 7AM and on Sunday, it will start at 8AM. The tickets will have time slots for when guests can enter the store.
There are extended hours this weekend for the celebration. On Saturday the 22nd, the store will be open from 9AM to 9PM. On Sunday the 23rd, the store will be open 10AM to 7PM, with the bistro open from noon to 5:30PM.
