– Scottsdale Dining at Tryst Cafe –
Tryst Cafe was another one of those restaurants that I had heard wonderful things about, but had yet to visit. I finally got the opportunity when I had lunch there a few weeks ago.
Tryst Cafe opened in 2010 and serves breakfast, lunch and dinner as well as spirits. It was developed around wanting to serve healthy, delicious organic food sourced from as many local vendors as possible. And, since its inception, it has included a large number of gluten-free offerings. Tryst Cafe is located in the Desert Ridge area, making it very accessible.
Although the full breakfast menu, (which is served until 2:30PM), looked delicious, we opted for a few lunch items that day. We started with the Desert Ridge Spring Rolls, which were carrots, cabbage, cilantro and sprouts wrapped in a rice paper and served with a sweet chili sauce to dip. They were light and refreshing and a good way to get the meal started.
For our main courses, we opted from the salad and sandwich sections of the menu. The first dish was the Roasted Beet Salad, which we added salmon to. It looked as delicious as it tasted. Roasted beets were paired with arugula and goat cheese and dressed with a honey lime vinaigrette. And the salmon was excellent and the perfect addition to the dish.
The second dish was the Kale Wrap, which came generously stuffed with kale, hummus, carrots, tomatoes, avocado and more in a wheat wrap. It also was excellent and was both healthy and satisfying.
Tryst Cafe is definitely a place we will be back to frequently as there were so many tasty looking items on the menu that we did not have the chance to sample.
