– Scottsdale Arizona Events – March 2015 –
It is the height of the high season and things are still in full-swing. The first part of the year was quite busy with the Superbowl, Barrett-Jackson, the Waste Management Open and more, and the next couple of months promise to offer plenty of things to do for all kinds of interests.
February 27th – March 1st – 20th Annual Carefree Fine Art & Wine Festival – This is one of my favorite events to attend. The town center of Carefree is transformed and over 165 artists have their works displayed. Dispersed among the artwork are booths where you can purchase wine to take with you as you stroll. Various art mediums range across all styles from contemporary to western and more. Admission is $3 per person and wine is additional.
March 1st – March 8th – Devoured Phoenix – This is a week-long celebration of local food and drink. Events include a bartending competition, a collaboration with artists and chefs and a weekend full of amazing food tasting featuring local talent and purveyors at the Phoenix Art Museum. Visit the site for more information about the events and timing.
March 3rd-April 4th – Spring Training – Spring training is back! The Cactus League coordinates and oversees all of the Valleywide games of some of the nation’s top teams including the Arizona Diamondbacks, the San Francisco Giants, the Kansas City Royals and many more. Also, you can check Scottsdale’s Salt River Fields site for additional information on the Diamondbacks and the Colorado Rockies.
March 12th – Meet the Masters – Love home and garden design? If so, you may want to attend the Meet the Masters of the Southwest Awards event on March 12th, put on by Phoenix Home & Garden magazine. Winners in the areas of architecture, interior design, landscape and pool design and more will be present. Attendance is free, but you must RSVP.
March 13th – March 15th – Scottsdale Arts Festival – This is another fun art event. For three days, the fields and open areas outside of the Scottsdale Center of Performing Arts become home to 175 artists from the United States and Canada. In addition, there will be live music, great food and family activities. Admission is $10 per person and kids under 12 are free. The Scottsdale Trolley will be giving free rides from 20 locations around Downtown Scottsdale. Please visit the event site for more information.
March 27-29 – Chicago – The perennial favorite musical, Chicago, is coming to ASU Gammage Theater at the end of the month. A great and entertaining way to spend a few hours.
This is just a partial list of all that is going on in the next couple of months. Please feel to add any other events in the comments section!
