Last month, we finally had the opportunity to try Modern Oysterbar Chophouse for the first time and we became immediate fans of not only the food, but also the entire experience.
The decor when you enter is sleek and elegant with dark tones. We were seated promptly on the large, open patio which was perfect for the weather.
What I liked about the menu is that you could go as decadent as you wanted, but there were also plenty of other options for folks who did not decide to venture in that direction.
We started with Oysters Rockefeller, which were prepared to perfection. The added touch of a grilled lemon to squeeze made them even better.
When we got to dinner, we ordered a few things. The first was the Crab Louie salad which was fresh, tasty and beautifully presented. We also had a Center Cut Filet and the Grilled Salmon and both were seasoned and cooked perfectly. Honestly, I do not think you can go wrong with your order here!
For the sides, we selected the Grilled Asparagus, which was simply and nicely prepared with olive oil, salt and lemon zest. We also decided to give the Truffled Parmesan Fries a try and they were heavenly – perfectly seasoned and crispy on the outside.
Overall, we really enjoyed our meal which was enhanced by the friendly and attentive service.
Modern Oysterbar Chophouse has a nice wine list that features a lot of California wines as well as offerings from Argentina, France, Italy and Spain. There is a fun and creative list of specialty cocktails as well as a full bar. Joyce tried the martini and declared it a winner.
We look forward to returning many more times!
