– Liberty Station in DC Ranch –
Early last month, we headed over to DC Ranch to try out Liberty Station for a quick dinner. Liberty Station, already up and running at its Terravita location, took over the space that Market Street Kitchen had occupied.
Liberty Station bills itself as an American Tavern and Smokehouse. It offers a large array of American comfort food and lighter dishes as well as some serious contenders from the smoker.
We are all fans of Deviled Eggs and typically get an order when we see them. Liberty Station’s were very tasty with the right amount of spice and the salty addition of prosciutto.
On this visit, we did not really venture into the menu items that came from the smoker. Instead, we opted for the Classic Caesar and the Iceberg Wedge salads. What we liked was the ability to order half or full-size portions. I ended up adding shrimp to mine and was treated to a skewer of perfectly cooked and seasoned shrimp. We also had the Grilled Salmon with an Orange BBQ Glaze. That too, fit the bill.
For smoked meat lovers, Liberty Station will make your day. Spare ribs, brisket, pork shoulder and all of the fixings are available and there is even a platter option so you can sample all three. You will also see smoked meats pop up in other parts of the menu, like Smoked Chicken Wings, a Smoked Prime Rib Dip and more.
Even though it was quite crowded, service was quick and our server, TJ, could not have been nicer or more accommodating. He added a little extra something to our experience.
Even though our first visit was a quick one, we plan to come back and explore some of the smoked meat offerings.
