The next two months in Scottsdale are packed with some huge, high-profile and exciting events.
Barrett Jackson Car Auction – January 10 – January 18 – It is back! Car lovers from all over the globe will descend on Barrett Jackson in a few days. Every year, there are some incredible cars that come up for auction and this year is no exception. One highly anticipated collection includes 140 cars and 1,500 pieces of collector items is estimated to bring in $50 million to the seller.
Russo and Steele 15th Anniversary – January 14- January 18 – On heels of and then running concurrently with Barrett Jackson, is Russo and Steele, another high-profile collector car auction. Over 750 cars of all types will be up for auction, including custom cars, sports cars, muscle cars, classics and more. You can find Russo and Steele in the tents just south of the 101 and east of Scottsdale Road.
The NFL Experience – January 24 – February 1 – This one-of-a-kind interactive event will be taking place at the Phoenix Convention Center. Participate in games and attractions, enjoy the displays, have your kids or grandchildren sign up for one of the football clinics or seek out autographs from current and former football players.
The Waste Management Phoenix Open – January 26 – February 1 – The WM Phoenix Open will be back at TPC Scottsdale. If you are interested in golf, this event is not to be missed. Besides exciting match play by some of the world’s top professional golfers, the social aspect of and people watching at this event is hard to beat. Fans can then round out their day with an post-event visit to the Birds Nest for live entertainment and socializing. Some of the golfers slated to play this year are Bubba Watson, Phil Mickelson and Ricky Fowler.
The XLIX Superbowl – February 1st – The 49th Superbowl will be held at the University of Phoenix Stadium in Glendale. Although we do not know who will be playing yet, it should be an incredible experience.
60th Annual Scottsdale Arabian Horse Show – February 12- February 22 – This amazing show takes place annually at WestWorld. Over 2,400 horses will be present along with various trainers and breeders. Watch some of the competitions, participate in a “behind the scenes” barn tour, shop at select equine vendors and so much more. If you have not had a chance to experience this show yet, I recommend it.
