– Grassroots Kitchen & Tap in Scottsdale –
Recently, a friend suggested lunch at Grassroots. She had been there once before and wanted to go back. I had heard great things about it, so I was happy to comply.
We got there early and grabbed a table on the pleasant patio along Hayden Road. Our server was very friendly and walked us through a lot of menu items we had questions on.
The menu is varied with lots of options for light eaters all of the way to people looking for a heartier meal. There were tons of options for salads and sandwiches as well as several seafood and meat offerings. There is definitely a southern influence on some items including a brisket dish, ribs, a po’boy sandwich and blackened redfish.
For our meal, we opted to start with the 85259 Creamy Burrata. Not only was the dish visually appealing, it was delicious. The burrata was served with tomato jam and arugula with ciabatta toasts to serve it on.
We then each ordered salads. The first was the Sashimi Ahi Tuna Salad that came with pieces of lightly seared ahi tuna on a bed of greens with avocado, wasabi peas, edamame and tomatoes. It was finished off with a miso vinaigrette. It was quite light and tasty, but satisfying. The other salad we had was the Cardiff Salad. This salad came with shrimp, corn, avocado, radishes, tomatoes, edamame and a creamy louis dressing. This was another excellent choice.
Overall, it was a great lunch and I can see why Grassroots is so popular. We definitely plan to go back and try some of the entrees for dinner as well as take advantage of the ‘Social Hour’ between 3PM and 6PM everyday.
One final thing to note is that they have a Corner Store option for folks who want to bring some of Grassroots’ most popular flavors and items home with them. Corner store items include the spicy tomato jam, roast chicken, key lime pie, bloody mary mix, salad dressing and more.
Tip: At lunchtime, Grassroots fills up quickly, so you may want to go early.
