– April 2014 – Things to Do In and Around Scottsdale Arizona –
Things are still going full-swing in and around Scottsdale this April. Below is a collection of events and exhibits happening in the first part of the month that might be of interest:
- APRIL 3rd – AZ Wine & Dine – Taste delicious food and drink at this year’s AZ Wine & Dine Event. The festivities, including live music and an auction will take place at the Scottsdale Quarter.
- APRIL 5th – Run the Runway at the Scottsdale Airport – Imagine running a race on the tarmac of the Scottsdale Airport! On April 5th, that is exactly what you can do. Events, races and activities for all ages. Proceeds benefit the non-profit Playworks.
- APRIL 6th – Phoenix Home & Garden Magazine’s Grand Tour of Gardens -Take a self-guided tour through some amazing gardens in Scottsdale, Paradise Valley and Phoenix. Some of these have been profesionally designed while others have been lovingly curated by the homeowners. There will be volunteers to answer questions and some of the event’s proceeds will benefit the Desert Botanical Garden.
- APRIL 4, 11, 18 – Music in the Garden at Desert Botanical Garden – Tour the gardens, take in the Chihuly exhibit and enjoy live music at the seasonal Music in the Garden events at the Desert Botanical Garden in Phoenix.
- APRIL 8-13- Scottsdale Culinary Festival – It is back! Enjoy days of diverse events celebrating the local culinary scene. Events cover burgers through bubbles and tons of things in between.
- APRIL 10-13 – Disney on Ice comes to town. See your favorite Disney characters perform at the US Airways center in downtown Phoenix.
- APRIL 11-13 – Carefree Days Festival – Head up to downtown Carefree to this wonderful art event. Live music, food trucks and family entertainment.
- APRIL 12 – The Rugby Bowl – Welcome to the first annual Rugby Bowl – Spikes and Spokes. Watch ASU and BYU, both nationally ranked college teams, battle it out at Scottsdale’s Westworld. When not watching the action, tour the many custom bikes that will be on display during the event.
- APRIL 12 – Celebrity Fight Night XX Gala at the JW Marriott Desert Ridge Resort – This well-loved annual gala is in its 20th incarnation this year. Many celebrities come out to support the cause and raise money for the Muhammad Ali Parkinson Center at Barrow Neurological Institute and other charities. Reba McEntire is hosting this year and there will be some incredible musical acts performing.
- APRIL 17-19 – Phoenix Improv Festival – Performers from Arizona and all over the United States will be at the Herberger Theater in Phoenix to show off their improvisational skills.
