Desert Mountain is one of Scottsdale’s most well-loved communities. Known for its golf lifestyle and active social calendar, Desert Mountain attracts people from all over the United States and abroad.
The community sits on about 8,000 acres and offers housing options from centrally-located lock-and-leave casitas all the way to expansive custom estates perched on the mountainsides.

HOMES FOR SALE AND PENDING SALES IN DESERT MOUNTAIN AS OF 2/23/2016
Before we take a look back at the sales activity in 2015, I wanted to go over the current inventory and activity at Desert Mountain.
As of February 23rd, there were 196 homes on the market with an average asking price of just over $2,100,000.
The highest priced home for sale was $8,375,000. This custom home comes with 10,236 square feet. The lowest priced home for sale was $599,000 and this was for an 1,836 square foot casita.
2015 HOME SALES IN DESERT MOUNTAIN
Sales activity in Desert Mountain was much stronger in the first half of the year. By the end of Q2, 61% of all home sales in Desert Mountain for 2015 had occurred.
Generally, the second quarter is the strongest quarter for home sales in Scottsdale and this year was no exception. We also saw the highest average sales price and price per square foot during that quarter as well.
The highest priced home sale in 2015 was $6,700,000. This home had 11,800 square feet and had been listed for $7,295,000.
2015’s lowest priced sale was for $525,000. This particular home was a casita and had been listed for $619,000.
